I have been fortunate to spend several days this week in the company of roughly 2,000 healthcare executives at the Becker’s Hospital Review meeting in Chicago. So much of the focus and investment in healthcare IT in recent years has been placed on clinical care protocols and EHR implementation. Only recently has emphasis been placed on care efficiency (volume + savings) and its complexities and the focus on successfully operating interdependent systems.
The themes of discussion at the conference and in all my other recent interactions are a resounding reinforcement of this reality. A wave of realization is washing over healthcare leaders that they are flooded with data that cannot easily be translated into action. There is a recognition now that there are three types of healthcare IT systems needed for supporting operational transformation:
- Systems of Record (EHRs)
- Systems of Display (Dashboards/Reports)
- Systems of Action (Workflow Solutions)
All of this validates the vision that InSites has been investing in and delivering on over recent years – the industry’s collective shift of attention toward operational efficiency and actionable intelligence. We are pleased to support this shift and accelerate improvements by sharing our solutions and our learning.
We have been preparing for this wave of recognition for years. We look forward to helping health systems ride the wave toward transformed operations and patient experiences.
